The Smart WIP Box is an automated drainage and moisture delivery system that allows for automatic watering and nutrient delivery based upon user-defined set points.
The Smart WIP Box is an automated drainage and moisture delivery system that allows for automatic watering and nutrient delivery based upon user-defined set points. The Smart WIP Box can be configured with multiple moisture sensors that are placed throughout the growing zones. Numerous sensor positions can be configured allowing for many categories of vegetation throughout. The entire process is monitored through a phone application that displays a graphical representation of the growing environment. The display shows when the pumps are on or off and it gives a real-time view of pressures, flows, soil moistures, and tank levels.

Components:
Each SMART WIP-Box will include an Automation Kit that contains all the SMART hardware necessary for sensing and watering. All the hardware and components of the Automation Kit are mounted onto a removable plate for ease of mobility and adjustment. The Automation Kit will arrive preassembled by AI Grow, to be mounted on the side of the box during field installation. Quick mounting brackets and disconnects for water and electrical will be included to make mounting and connection simple.
Each Automation Kit will contain the following:
• Hardware mounting plate with quick mounting brackets
• One (1) automated water control valve
• One (1) automated moisture detection probe
• One (1) manual watering bypass valve
• All internal ½” piping & tubing
o ½” quick connection fitting
o ½” tubing to the valve
o ½” post valve header tube for ¼” drip hose installation
• Six (6) 4’ drip hoses with barbed coupling for installation into the header
• Valve and moisture instruments are pre-wired to quick-connect electrical fitting
Each pod of 88 boxes will either be a Control Pod (1 per acre) or a Remote Pod (15 per acre). A panel will be included to control each pod, depending on the type.
Each Control Pod will have a panel containing the following:
• 316 stainless steel NEMA-4X control panel
o UL Listed
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
• Human Machine Interface (HMI) touchscreen
• Uninterruptable power supply (UPS)
• Control panel AC unit
• Industrial Wifi transmitter
• Ethernet switch
• 12VDC power supply
• 48VDC power supply
• Circuit protection using circuit breakers and fused terminal blocks
• All I/O prewired to terminal blocks
Each Remote Pod will have a panel containing the following:
